  • Could this be the "Real Cause" of heart attacks?

    And the topic for today is the real cause of heart attacks. Now, before I began talking to you about the real cause of heart attacks, I need to go backwards a little bit, and tell you a little bit of a story. And the story begins in 1940, before world war II, America was getting all of their coconut oil from the South Pacific Island. However, what happened was the Japanese military bombed Pearl Harbor.

    And so that stopped all of the supply for the coconut oil into America. And that forced the food industry to become very creative. And what they ended up doing is creating new cooking oils. And so they started creating vegetable oils, which we now use such as corn canola, safflower, sunflower soybean oil. And just so you know, and you're not tricked with this anymore about the labeling. It doesn't contain any cholesterol. And the reason it doesn't contain any cholesterol is because there's no animal fat in it.

    The only way you're going to get cholesterol into a product is if it's got animal fat. So be fooled anymore. So these vegetable oils were promoted to us as healthy oils and because of the way they were created, it had a very long shelf life.

    So that was the food industry. They created new oils and then we've got a researcher by the name of Ansul Keys and in 1960 based on very weak evidence, he stated that saturated fats such as butter, coconut oil, lard, and animal fat actually elevated one's cholesterol and elevating one's cholesterol increased somebody's risk of having heart attacks. And so he said that the saturated fats elevated your cholesterol. And hence that was the cause of heart attacks, strokes, and heart disease in the world now.
